Jack and the Bag of Death
Most people only know Jack from the folk tale of Jack and the Bean Stalk. This is a little known oral tradition story of a time when an American Jack tricks Death into climbing into a bag that he can't get out of. This story has a poignant meaning that probably was shared at times of loss. I heard this story from Richard Chase somewhere around midsummer of 1981. Thank you Richard for you gifts of tales.
