The end of the year is nigh...tis hard to fathom. It is for me anyways. I've been plucking the strings of 'Freedom' for a very long time now. Actually I've always written songs that have been about 'knocking down walls' in the political arena. There's evidence of this even here on U2b with the song "Where did everybody go" which is a relic from my distant past. I'm thankful that someone had saved that video. I had lost it long ago. It seemed like it might have meant something to someone as it gathered dust in a box hidden somewhere in the basement of a Seattle house. Someone asked me what I would be doing if I wasn't writing songs about 'corruption' or 'conpspriacy', protest etc... and I was really kind a dumbfounded for a minute. I mean, I've never even thought about it. I usually have an answer for everything. But as I sat thinking about something clever to say I realized that was no clever answer to be given. No profound reason. ...Ah, but then again...I thought about the 'blues'. Thank god for the blues. It's my background. It's my screensaver... It's my bible. I might be 'losing my religion' but I'm not going to lose 'the blues'. The older I get...the more I know that I 'have' to sing the blues. It's simple. U know, the opposite of complicated...which is something that I tend to do all of the time....over-complicate things. I think America is learning how to sing the blues...once again. Don't you? _____________________________ The soldiers of the Revolution must also 'keep things simple'. Ron Paul is still relatively unknown. Folks around me everywhere, especially when I perform are still coming up 2 me and asking "Who's that guy you're singing about again?..." and for the thousandth time I say, "U KNOW...RON PAUL...HE'S RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT"...! and continue on with the story...once again! "Oh that's strange, I haven't heard about him or seen him on the news" they say. "Imagine that" I think to myself. So....if Dr Ron Paul is 'forced' to step down from running as the 'Republican Candidate' in this presidential race...well then, have faith...the show is far from over. He is raising more then just eyebrows with the $$$$$$$$ and growing support. We must continue on, just has we've been doing from the beginning. We've accomplished so much, but yet, we haven't even skimmed the surface. Regardless of the ups and downs that will come with a presidential race...I've begun to see something that I never thought would see....and that is 'America beginning to awaken...!
