A demonstration on the generation of a high voltage spark by a step-up transformer having a 500-turn primary and 23000-turn secondary. The applied voltage is 300V and the generated voltage is ideally 23000/500 x 300V =13.8 kV but it is less practically. Demonstrated by Mustafa Daif with the assistance of Ali Taha and Yosri Idrees.

An illustrative animation of Lenz's Law where a short-circuited coil (loop) moves in a magnetic field. Before the coil enters the field, there is no induced current and the coil moves fast. When the coil enters the field, an induced current is established inside the coil and so another magnetic field is induced around the coil. Consequently, the movement of the coil is slowed down.

On the morning of 25th October 2007, I had an "Electrical Applications" class and I had to explain the principle of operation of 3-phase squirrel-cage motor.
My class like to drink the orange-juice brand Rani. Let see the link between Rani and this type of motor.

Like a lemon, a potato can produce electricicty if a copper and zinc terminals are inserted in it. The copper terminal is positive whereas the zinc is negative.
The chemical reaction inside the potato causes the electrons to move from the zinc to the copper.
The experiment was demonstrated by Mustafa Daif and directed by Ebtisam Al Anzoor.

Heinrich Emil Lenz (1804-1865) further explained Faraday's Law when he formulated Lenz's law in 1834 which states that "the emf induced in an electric circuit always acts in such a direction that the current it drives around a closed circuit produces a magnetic field which opposes the change in magnetic flux."
This video was directed and narrated by Mustafa Daif with the help of Younis Ali and Ebtisam Anzoor. This video was produced for EduMation. The video was shot at Bahrain Training Institute on 7th March 2007.

Michael Faraday (1791-1867) discovered the Law of Induction in 1831 after extensive experiments and research.
The law states that "the induced electromotive force in a closed loop equals the negative of the time rate of change of magnetic flux through the loop."
This video was dedicated to the memory of Michael Faraday. The video was directed and narrated by Mustafa Daif with the help of Younis Ali and Ebtisam Anzoor.
