It was decided that I would go with a movement out of Griegs Holberg suite. As much as a like the korg sound i feel that this music goes very well with the long sequence, heres a small clip from the sequence.

Diary002 - honesty on camera: still very very nervous here on doing this, wish i could get a bit more confident...it IS however better than ones in more... the past i think.

Finally reached (and passed) the date (30th Arpil) for my film to be shown locally for a one off screening alongside five other short films. This has been the most stressful thing I've done to date, I did not reach my goal of completing the fifteen minute film, and I've been told that I had a breakdown towards the end of the deadline.That it was like battle fatigue...I had to stop altogether and then after quite a bit of rest I went into a slow workflow and it really did crawl along as I directed my father with putting sound effects onto the last sequences. This is what was shown in the theatre and is nine minutes long (and is what I am posting here) but there is further five minutes of completed animation with no sound been done that can not be shown, it is the most frustrating thing, but I will have to be happy that something was being shown instead of nothing being shown. It was now that I come to think of it, another rbullet point in the whole story of me getting closer to what i want. It was my first professional screening and was a emotional one for me as my entire life has be driven towards this. The cinema was bigger than i thought it would be, but still not gigantic, 67 seats i think they said. but it was nice to be there siting next to the 5 other short films.

Erráns Ruber written, directed, edited and shot by Michael J Dowswell. Erráns Ruber is the first in a trilogy of short science fiction animations made in 3d using Cinema 4D. They are all made with no money, a lot of sweat and tears and are none of them are storyboarded. Erráns Ruber actually started off from what I call a 3d doodle, I start up the software and just launch into something, in this case it was a skeleton buried in the sand, and then gradually I thought I would have the two robots looking down on it. I had no idea at this point I’d started on a short film...but once I’d done that scene I had more ideas on how it could all lead up to that moment. ---

Disorientation shot...the famous technique invented by Alfred Hitchcock in 1958 also famously used in quite a few others. I used it here for build up and well...disorientation lol. Hope you have fun getting disorientated. :O ) (more)
