A trip to a strip mall parking lot fair. Another in the series of short vids made in 1989 with the Fisher Price PXL 2000.

In 1988, Fisher Price introduced the PXL 2000, a kids' video camera that recorded in black and white on high bias audio cassette tapes at very high speed. I bought one for my sister's kids, and one for myself (just for grins). This brief series comprises short videos I made with the PXL in 1989.

When I was 16, my sister and her son came to visit. She brought her 8mm movie camera, and I shot a bunch of footage, including this "stop-motion" experiment with some of my then 18-month-old nephew's toys. The camera couldn't actually shoot a single frame at a time; I just had to push and release the shutter VERY quickly. Hence the jerkiness. Nonetheless, it's kinda trippy.

I shot, directed, and edited this music video for a buddy of mine back in 2001. The "set" (his garage) was lit with various household lightbulbs, some in festive colors. In addition to exhibiting one of my abstract art prints, I made a documentary about this show and the group that presented it. I also composed and performed the score. Note: This show was co-curated by Franne Lee, costume and set designer for "Saturday Night Live" for its first five years.
