...as the title says...It's spring! Photos taken Yesterday, a lovely Sunday , after many,many weeks of rain and storms.

I was tagged by Ravensinger to tell five random facts about myself! Now I'm tagging Demonfish, dirtydog, GriffinPoint, and adding sprichbeeke if she wants to play. Peace all! Maddog

Photos I took last weekend on a walk through the alleys of my town...Close-ups of flowers...and a few other creatures...

..just using some footage from the fall... I live in the region of the Pacific Temperate Rainforest...with most of the precipitation in fall and winter...hence all the moss...and sadness in the air during that season...

A little trip to the Fraser Delta on a windy day in April... Although tis area is relatively close to Vancouver...it is a world on to it's own...We pass a "colony " of floating houses" ...pass some little old (for here) houses in the fields...and watch some Sandhill Cranes...and noisy ducks...Please excuse the very bad sound...due to strong wind..I tried to "cover it up" with music...but that was just more noise...Definetely this in no work of art :-)

Just a few moments fom today's walk by my beach...Today was the first nice day..in a long time...WARNING...this video my be boring to some...

My video response to Sprichbeeke's German Tongue Twister. BTW, The first of this video might seem a bit odd because I repeat myself. That's just because I've started to whenever possible upload the raw .MOV file straight from my camera rather than edit with Windows Movie Maker and have to go through file conversions, extra time, and video quality loss.

The Ishtar Gate was the eighth gate to the inner city of Babylon. It was constructed in about 575 BC by order of King Nebuchadnezzar II on the north side of the city. Dedicated to the Assyrian goddess Ishtar, the Gate was constructed of blue glazed tiles. Through the gate ran the Processional Way which was lined with walls covered in lions on glazed bricks (about 120 of them). Statues of the gods were paraded through the gate and down the Processional Way each year during the New Year's celebration. It was originally considered one of the Seven Wonders of the world until, in the 6th century AD, it was replaced with the Lighthouse of Alexandria.

Warning...not well shot..but some of you may find it interesting anyway.. The Pergamon Altar... is a magnificently opulent structure originally built in the 2nd century BC in the Ancient Greek city of Pergamon (modern day Bergama in Turkey) in north-western Anatolia, 25.74 kilometers (16 miles) from the Aegean Sea. It has long been assumed that the temple was dedicated to Zeus. This museum in Berlin was originally mainly built to display it.

A stroll around the Seawall of Stanley Park in Vancouver...on one of the last days to enjoy swimming in the Pacific for this season... Stanley Park is a large peninsula, surrounded by inlets of the ocean and adjacent to the downtown area. It is coverd in the interior with Pacific Rainforest...and surrounded by a lovely seawall to walk and enjoy the vistas..and the smell of the forest...and several nice sandy beaches...

Slide show in honour of my spirited and brave,loving Mom...born at the end of World War One...lived through WWII..in one of the most devastated cities in Germany...married my father an artist 29 years her senior...and after his death,when I was only 5...she managed to retrain in night classes..with me as a latch-key kid...from fine artist...to teacher of art and biology...to provide a more stabel base for our survival...not an easy task...but she did it... A few moments from a lovely visit with Elie (cartoonage.de ) this August. I did not end up with much usable footage...so here is just this little video. We are on the Museum Island...a quite enchanted place of wooded areas, ponds, little running waters...The forest hides sculptures and buildings which hold a splendid collection of modern and eastern art...But as you will see...I am not showing much of the art, just a bit of the atmosphere and glimpses of my charming host...
