Spitfire doc about the famous test pilot Alex Henshaw. May be some jitter in the middle due to the conversion process. Great vid tho.

Schneider Trophy, or prize or cup, was a prize competition for seaplanes. Announced by Jacques Schneider, a financier, balloonist and aircraft enthusiast, in 1911, it offered a prize of roughly £1,000. The race was held eleven times between 1913 and 1931. It was meant to encourage technical advances in civil aviation but became a contest for pure speed with laps over a triangular course (initially 280 km, later 350 km). The races were very popular and some attracted crowds of over 200,000 spectators.

By way of showing you that excellent documentaries CAN be made here is SL Paul Day of the RAF BBMF giving his comments on the BoB rivals the Spit and 109. Truly excellent and yet so simple.

Very good on the visuals but the narration is all over the place. Here we see some scenes form the Spitfire gathering at IWM Duxford and then an aerobatic routine at Biggin Hill with a Corsair. Interesting contrast in sounds from a mix of Merlin and Griffon engines counterpointed by the PW radial of the Corsair.

Radio Control Planes, I dont get the facination myself... You spend 8 months creating a scale replica of a WW2 fighter and then...
Spitfire created by Cozzmix senior (Bronco1940)
Prepping the two-seat Spitfire at Duxford, odd way to tow a plane but it is a tail-dragger. Whenever you visit Duxford you get a 'free' airshow - one of the many airworthy planes there will be air-tested or returning from an airshow etc. A good mix of old and new too.
