I love seein’ happy animals!! These are some of the many animals, along with a few ducks LOL, that are in a show called “Pets Rule”, at SeaWorld, San Diego, California. At SeaWorld San Diego, Clyde and an award-winning Irish dancer go flipper to toe in one of the most unusual yet hilarious dance contests this St. Patrick's Day. Clyde (or, "McClyde") shows his stuff and strives to elevate traditional Irish dancing to an entirely new level. At first, the two competitors attempt a few basic dances steps. The contest kicks into high gear with some fancy foot and "flipperwork." Finally, Clyde literally dances circles around his competitor. Concluding the festivities, O. P. Otter, SeaWorld's own honorary leprechaun, awards a special "shamrock trophy" to the dance-off winner. This is an amusing video, I call it a filler, as I claim not rights to it whatsoever, until I upload my next 3 part series that I am editing in a new program. Enjoy!

NOAA's National Marine Sanctuary Program today announced the launch of a new national ocean literacy, education, and public awareness campaign featuring Sanctuary Sam, a California sea lion who will be the program's "spokes-sea lion" from his SeaWorld-based home in Orlando, Fla. "What Smokey Bear did for our nation's forests, Sanctuary Sam has the potential to do, making ocean issues real for all Americans," said Daniel J. Basta, director of the sanctuary program. "The future health of our oceans depends on all of us caring and taking action. Sam's charge is to help bring that message to the nation." Appearing in a variety of communications and educational vehicles, Sanctuary Sam will help convey important messages to the American public - particularly children - about the marine environment, highlighting the current problems facing the oceans, including pollution, marine debris and habitat destruction.

I always get an annual pass to SeaWorld, because I love watching the incredible grace and power of the killer whales and dolphins, so I’ll put the links to two of my previous videos about them below, but, BUT!! . . . since I visit SeaWorld quite often, I have lots of opportunities to notice things going on at SeaWorld OTHER than the main attractions. One of the things that always amuses me is that the local BIRDS have grown REALLY accustomed to the MUSIC used in the SeaWorld shows and to the timing of when the shows are going to END, so if you’re not “distracted” by watching the amazing whales and dolphins, you’ll notice if you look around you, that pigeons, seagulls, and various other types of birds start flying around and grouping together near the end of each show, as they hear the songs that are used to end the various shows. Some days it starts to look like you’re reliving Alfred Hitchcock’s “The Birds” movie! LOL, and it’s hilarious watchin’ the “stealth tactics” of various birds as they try to sneak up and eat some of the fish in the containers meant for the whales and dolphins! So here’s a video about this airborne custodial service that’s an integral part of the SeaWorld ecosystem, as the birds do their part to get a meal AND to help save the planet, as they clean up some of the MESS that the masses of inconsiderate, littering humans always leave in their wake as they depart from the seating areas. The song is “9 to 5” by an English singer known as “Willis”. I REALLY like this edgy, urban, soulful, ennui filled version of the song. Willis is a talented, deep-voiced country/soul/blues/indie singer from London, England, who, in her words, “grew up on a diet of Elvis, Hollywood musicals, nursery rhymes and country music.” She began her career by singing traditional Irish folk songs, but then discovered 1970s Americana, Neil Young and The Band, and for six years she also worked in an eclectic London store, “Soul Jazz Records”, where she was introduced to the world of dance music and electronica. . . . the result is this great, unique, and eclectic sound that is heard in her version of “9 to 5”. Here’s a video of the huge walrus that hangs out at SeaWorld in San Diego, California. This walrus is a VERRRRYYYY messy EATER!!! LOL, but a VERRYYY graceful SWIMMER! The song is “I Am The Walrus”. This version is a collaboration by U2’s Bono and the group Secret Machines. Their version of the song was in the movie “Across the Universe”.

I’m always fascinated at the ease and grace with which whales and dolphins swim, so it’s always a joy to watch them. Beluga Whales weigh between 3,000 and 3,300 pounds and grow to be between 10 and 15 feet long. Unlike the more popular dolphins and killer whales, the Beluga Whales have no dorsal fins, primarily because the beluga whales spend so much of their time in their natural habitat swimming very close to the ice sheets over their heads, as the whales look for breathing holes in the ice, so there’s no evolutionary advantage for Beluga Whales to have dorsal fins. The song I chose is “Ordinary Miracle” by Sarah McLachlan.

Busch Entertainment Corporation and Nakheel sign Memorandum of Understanding to develop four theme parks in the United Arab Emirates Busch Entertainment Corporation (BEC), the family entertainment division of Anheuser-Busch Cos., today announced an agreement with Nakheel PJSC, one of the world's largest property developers, to create the Worlds of Discovery – SeaWorld, Aquatica, Busch Gardens and Discovery Cove – on The Palm Jebel Ali in Dubai. BEC and Nakheel, a key company in Dubai's transformation into one of the fastest growing cities in the world, reached agreement earlier this month on the terms of a Memorandum of Understanding that calls for the phased construction of four theme parks on the second of the company's three Palm man-made island developments.
