"Hymne à L'Amour" ("Hymn to Love" fr.... "Hymne à L'Amour" ("Hymn to Love" fr.) is a popular French song originally performed by Édith Piaf. The lyrics were written by Piaf and the music by Marguerite Monnot. It was originally recorded on 2 May 1950, and has been redone in English as "If You Love Me (Really Love Me)". JUPITER - a song by Hirahara Ayaka based on Gustov Holts' PLANETS This is a very interesting piece because it is based on the Jupiter piece which is part of the PLANETS by Gustov Holst The Planets Op. 32 [1] is a seven-movement orchestral suite by the English composer Gustav Holst, written between 1914 and 1916. Notable for its elaborate score for large orchestra with some unusual instruments, The Planets is the most-performed composition by an English composer.[1] Its first complete public performance was on October 10, 1920 in Birmingham, with Appleby Matthews conducting. However, an earlier invitation-only premiere occurred during World War I on September 29, 1918, in London's Royal Albert Hall, conducted by Sir Adrian Boult[1]. The elaborate score of The Planets produces unusual, complex sounds by using some unusual instruments[2] and multiples of instruments in the large orchestra (like Mahler's Sixth of 1906), such as three oboes, three bassoons, two piccolos, two harps, bass oboe, two timpani players, glockenspiel, celesta, xylophone, tubular bells, and organ (see "Instrumentation" below). his is the third of four Impromptus written by Franz Schubert in about 1827, about a year before Schubert died at the age of 31. according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Impromptus_(Schubert): No. 3 in G-flat major The third of the Op. 90 Impromptus, in G-flat major, is characterised by the sustained contrast of relatively slow, stationary themes with the constant rapid movement of broken triads in the middle registers. The piece exploits this contrast in order to establish the paradoxical impression of being both simplistic and complex, static and dynamic, beautiful and brutish -- all at the same time. It is perhaps because of this Janus-like duplicity, along with its easily accessible melodies and the high level of technical proficiency required for performance, that the piece was featured prominently in the 1997 film Gattaca -- with slight modifications, of course, which rendered it unplayable by a ten fingers. Though written in G-flat major, it was long transposed to and printed in G major (a much simpler key).
