We went to an obstacle challenge and decided we should build some obstacles ourselves to train and expose the horses to a variety of different objects. While going through all the trouble, lets invite a group of friends to join in. So we had an Obstacle Challenge Fun Day! It was fantastic! It was an extraordinarily windy day which really enhanced the spooky effect of the obstacles. First obstacle was a gate, open, go through, and close while on horseback. Next was a walk through the woods, stepping over logs, and walking through a palmetto tunnel. Then walk under an arch between two trees that had a bunch of pool noodles hanging and blowing. Walk up to a water jug that was at horse eye level and get a drink of water. Pick up a hula hoop hung on a tree, ride down to another tree and get another hoop and take back to the first tree. A walk on a tarp that was lined with orange caution fence with balloons blowing. Step over a number of logs stacked, then walk through a box of logs with a bunch of balls in it. Walk across a wooden bridge with traffic cones at the beginning. Walk into an L shaped path, then back out the L. Drag a tire from a rope, around a barrel and back to the tree. Walk through a path, step front feet over a log, then back out. Drag a bundle of palm fronds aroudn a barrel then back to the tree. Walk through a pond. It was fantastic! Everybody had a wonderful time! March 8, 2008, Malabar, Florida

My Mom was an extraordinary woman who survived so many struggles and obstacles that would have derailed anyone else. She had to deal with psoriasis and other health complications and still had time for everyone. I love you Mom.

Chris is the first to try the new bouler/rock obstacle. He doesn't make it, the crash is not bad but you get to hear and see him struggle for a while as he tries to get "unstuck". He is then shown up by his buddy who makes it with no trouble.
