This was the first in my series on my ancestral path and genealogical family history DVD I prepared for my children. (This video has been reposted and edited for privacy.) It starts on or about 85 AD with the Pictish people of Scotland; Our family DNA project shows our bloodline co-mingling with the Norse Vikings. So for our family, at least, the Pictish were absorbed rather than destroyed.

This is an equally lengthy follow-up to my video "The growth of Christianity: Word of mouth or political utilitarianism?" and is a response to a question addressed to me by a friend. Please note that I use the word "Aasatru" in this video in the context of "pagan Scandinavian beliefs in the Aesir", rather than its neo-pagan, modern meaning.
