In the hey days there was always going to be at least two F16 displays at the Mildenhall Air Fete - dare I say it but it was the Dutch one which showed off the Viper at its very best. I am not sure which air force this one belongs to. It could be the RNAF or maybe a Norwegian one... or USAF one, or mayve a Danish one. They had several in the static park too. Shame they no longer have Air Fetes. More clips coming so stay tuned and please comment/rate!

F16 and F15E Launch From Mildenhall - talk about being in the right place at the right time. The F15E's pitch up is breathtaking - and the camcorder was working! Put it on and turn up the volume!

F27 Troopship of the RNAF used to be one of the most impressive performers at airshows in the 80s. This shows the plane taxiing to departure, taking off - well some say he just retracted undercart - smoke on and up she goes!
Sorry that the vid colour is washed out. This was recorded on a Betacam (!) dubbed to a VHS VCR then avi on the PC prior to u/l. Maybe I will redo it...

Mildenhall Air Fete in the murk of 1982... various planes including B17, F16 etc. Then a drive round the static.
F15 & P51s Heritage Flight at Mildenhall encore - from the left. See how overcast the sky is. MAF was always subject to the variable weather of East Anglia. I have been there when it was a monsoon one year and scorching the next.

Special clip I filmed at the MAF nearly ten years ago I reckon. Features a single F15C Eagle accompanied by a pair of P51 Mustangs in the 'Heritage Flight'. I love these mixed formations - the sight and sound is breathtaking. It illustrates how large the F15C - in some respects the modern equivalent to the WW2 P51 - actually is.

The amazing Avro starring on TV from the Mildenhall Air Fete in 1982-ish, in the good old days when they used to cover airshows on UK TV. This is the way to do it - have an inset of someone who knows the plane, in this case SL Le Strange. Brief glimpse of the T33 at the end.

Mildenhall Air Fete 82 Lightning Display - my friend filmed this for me using his Sony Betacam camcorder now a museum piece but back then something to drool over. i couldn't believe it when we got this (and other) mighty planes in the viewfinder to record for posterity. What a shame the weather did not respond - Mildenhall was always pot luck as regards the weather. Sometimes it would be like this, cloudy and wet, others it would be stark staring roasting hot. Either way it tried the patience of camera fiends - even on good days you were staring into the fiery ball. We used to moan while were having the times of our lives. We thought MAF would outlive us all but no chance. Hasn't been one for years and no news is bad news. Watch out for more clips soon. More from this MAF (the earliest I have vids of) and later ones.

Mildenhall Air Fete used to have these multiple flypasts by C130s of the USAF. I think this is a Combat Talon - it comes zooming in past the control tower before throwing out some low-altitude opening gizmo on a chute.
