My favorite version of "The Front Room"
An 1874 music box that my Grandmother kept packed away and none of us knew she had it. It weighs 7 3/4 pounds!
Genesis of this video is the poem, "For Best," by Elise Harris on her EliseHarris channel here at YouTube, and also at:
http://www.eliseharris.com/
The music box, it's in full view these days, as well as played often, and all are welcomed inside the front door after my Mother and I took over the place.
Picture taken at Christmas of 2004 6 weeks before Grandmother died ( She is front and center in photo, taken in bay area of her hallowed "Front Room." )
The music box remains in that bay area, testament to a treasure that she'd kept hidden from us all all those years, and as the family's appreciation that near The End we were finally allowed inside The Front Room.
Thank-you, Grandmother "Pansey," and I like the coffee pot, too.
