In the first week August, I took part in the RYLA experience, a week long activity week for young people to help me to gain confidence and build leadership skills. I was sponsored by my local rotary club of Portobello to go to the centre in go to Loch Tay in Scotland. Here, I met some new friends and took part in a number of activities such as climbing, absailing, canoing, gorge walking, hillwalking, crate building, high/low ropes and of course the most bizarre experience of my life; the milktray exercise. For this, we had to deliver chocolates via a mission similar to an army one. We built rafts and sailed at 1:00am to an island and camped there after pitching in the dark. The next day we had to figure out coded messages and rescue a man up a hill by carrying him in a stretcher. This week goes down as one of the best and I will never forget it. While away, I managed to take a few photos although you can imagine why I didn't do a video. I also managed to find some more and show you how I saw the experience. Hope you like the music I used by Kevin MacLeod.
