The best we could do to explain drakes in two minutes. We left out a couple things from the original formula such as star rebirth, and underestimated a few NASA estimations and the results are still amazing.
Something I've wanted to do for a long time is have me own obsservatory. Since I don't sleep well why not make the most of the seemingly 'wasted' hours by looking at the stars.
