The Aqua Aloha Surf is a boutique hotel for budget minded travelers on the go visiting Waikiki. The property is 16 stories high and has 202 rooms, its on the quiet side of Waikiki the Ala Wai canal along , and about a 10 minute walk for the Beach.

Aloha all! My ohana and I were recently blessed to have an opportunity to leave Las vegas and return home to visit Hawai'i (9/1/07). It was nearly 4 years since our last visit. Now I could create a long list of everything that I missed about home, but what I truly missed most was the beaches. My family and I had the opportunity to play the tourist role and enjoy one of Waikiki's finest hotels, The ResortQuest Waikiki Beach Hotel. This is the breathtaking view we had from our room on the 21st floor. For me personally the entire trip was a healing experience. Truly, there is no place like home. I hope you enjoy the view and get a sense of what I felt overlooking the shorelines of the world renown Waikiki Beach. Ryan the flying Hawaiian, a local, teaches this little boy and his sister how to play Ukulele. Afterward, Ryan told me how spending time with these kids was close to his heart.

I was just playin’ around with my iMovie special effects, so here’s the result . . . the original video is some camcorder footage I took from my hotel balcony in Waikiki, Hawaii of a fireworks display one night. The song is “Revolution” by the Beatles, which brings back vivid memories of me havin’ to worry about bein’ drafted to fight in VietNam. The year I COULD have been drafted, my particular draft number came within five numbers of the final draft number called up for military duty that year.

The HPU (Hawaii Pacific University) Computing Club and Project Management Club met at the American Legion's Waikiki facility. I got invited to have a BBQ lunch with them. I was also asked to speak to the club. I met some amazing people with some fantastic anecdotes. I certainly got a lot out of it.
