As we were waiting patiently - over 2 hours and 14 minutes - for the "unofficial" - ie. fake, machine count - vote totals for the 2007 Iowa Straw Poll, Congressman Steve King from Iowa's 4th District took the words right out of our mouths and to the cheers from many supporters of Ron Paul said: This is about freedom. This effort here is about freedom. It’s about taking back your freedom. It’s about taking this country back from people who have been in fact slowing rolling it towards socialism.

Vote In Sunshine volunteers were stationed at each of the exits of the three voting stations inside the Iowa Straw Poll complex with manual clickers to both observe and count the number of individuals exiting the polls throughout the day. Our final "clicker count" was 15,000.

Members of the Vote In Sunshine Coalition attempted to attend a test demonstration of Diebold's Accu-Vote Paper Ballot voting machine which has been decertified in Florida and California. We were denied entry and were asked to leave.

Princeton hacks a Diebold voting machine in less time than it takes to acutely vote on one.

Jim Condit, Jr. comments about the fact that there is no Giuliani or McCain presence at all on the floor of the Hilton Coliseum and very little, if any, support or presence from Mitt Romney supporters as we waited for the "unofficial" - ie. fake, machine count - results of the Iowa Straw Poll to be announced. Jim also shares a bit of a conversation he had with Carl Cameron with Fox News who commented that he didn't find any problem if the citizens can't see or count the ballots on election day.
