The Queen Jane of this song is generally assumed to be Jane Seymour, the third wife of Henry VIII, though if so the song is historically inaccurate. Jane Seymour gave birth to the future King Edward VI on October 12, 1537, and died twelve days later from infection resulting from the birth. Although the birth was difficult it was not a Caesarian, but this could be a bit of poetic licence by whoever created the song in the first place. Nobody expects a ballad to be a reliable historical document. I first heard this sung by Joan Baez, so it is pretty much her version I sing.

Jordan Maxwell exposes 'divine right'. This video interested me as I studied a lot about ancient history when I was doing a fine arts major. I usually skipped class and studied about ancient cultures instead ... lol... Anyway, at the time I read many strange things and found the state library's selection of books and archived books fascinating. Whilst reading about King Otto of 1100's AD ( I think) and his wars with the papal states (or defending them... can't remember and don't care to), the author had also wrote a lot about what a royal title was and 'divine right'.
