The ancient ruined city of Tikal is the largest of the Maya civilization. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is now part of Guatemala’s Tikal National Park and a popular tourist spot. The lowland rainforest hosts an array of wildlife in addition to the step pyramid temples, some of which tower over 200 feet (60 meters) high. Tikal trivia: In Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, Tikal was used as the background of the rebel base on Yavin 4. Classical Guitarist, Manfred Harter composed and performed “Mystery of Tikal”.

"Cruise Nights" and outdoor car club shows are a great way to pass the time on a warm summer's afternoon or evening. All of these photos, with three exceptions, were taken locally over the past few years. Hubby loves old cars and I love to photograph them -- it's a match made in car heaven! lol Enjoy "Rockin' down the highway"!

This piece of music, “Memories of Alhambra” by Francisco Tarrega, is played here by Canadian, Manfred Harter, whom I have had the pleasure to meet and who has played many wonderful arrangements for me. I knew nothing of the Alhambra, but as was the case with a previous piece of Manfred’s music, “Mystery of Tikal”, I wanted to know what it was that attracted him to this piece. The Alhambra is a palace and fortress complex in southern Spain. It sits on a hilly terrace on the southeastern border of the city of Granada. Once the residence of the Muslim kings of Granada and their court, it was designed to reflect the very beauty of Paradise itself, with its gardens, fountains, streams, palace, and a mosque, all inside a fortress wall. It is now one of Spain's major tourist attractions and on my "Bucket List" -- those special things to see or do before I die. ;)

Lynn won a video story for correctly identifying the images of Bittersweet that were used in "Bittergreen" by Gordon Lightfoot. Thi sound track is a mix of several artists and two songs. The first to accurately identify the recording artists will have a video produced for them...the contest continues.

This little slideshow is for my dear friend Bob (Brob11) and his "boyz".
