9 year-old Marlon the Magnificent would like to be a magician, but he fails at entertaining his schoolmates.  A curious stranger, Mr. Magic, gives Marlon a gift, a magic red hat.  Marlon believes that the hat gives him the power to perform, but he soon discovers that it has a mind of it’s own.  It leads him on an adventurous trek through the streets of Hollywood, and along with the help of Mr. Magic, teaches Marlon that magic is a gift he already possesses.
