An old woman is brought into a hospice. The only thing she carries is a locket containing a very special photograph. She has no identification and is unable speak. Although unable to communicate, the old woman is awake and aware of the two nurses, a male (Michael) and a female (Gloria), caring for her. Gloria doesn't understand the connection that occurs between her and the old woman, but Michael knows all too well what's happening because he's been there. Try as he might to remain aloof and distant, the connection draws him to Gloria, and thus to the old woman. Who is she? The nurses open her locket and the old woman’s calming thoughts are finally able to transcend human speech and transmit the bliss of impermanence to her troubled caretakers.
