The Ballad of Tom and Melissa
Let me tell you a story I heard on the radio
About a man who loved a woman
And a woman who loved a man
This story has no boundaries
And this story has no end
When a man loves a woman and woman loves a man
When a man loves a woman and woman loves a man
One day it just happened
When driving into town
A bus came down upon them
And turned their lives around
A bus came down upon them
And turned their lives around
Tom he got hurt but he’d be alright
Melissa lay in a room fighting for her life
They couldn’t wake her up and feared for her life
This story has no boundaries
And this story has no end
When a man loves a woman and a woman loves a man
When a man loves a woman and a woman loves a man
Tom he loved that girl more than he love his own life
He’d waited for a long time for her to be his wife
And he’d wait another lifetime for her to be alright
Yea he’d wait another lifetime for her to be alright
She felt him when she slept
She saw him in her dream
She saw him when she woke up
But she didn’t know his name
She didn’t know his name but she loved him just the same
She didn’t know his name but she loved him just the same
This story is almost finished
But there’s still no end
When a man loves a woman and a woman loves a man
When a man loves a woman and a woman loves a man

The Edison Twins
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Edison Twins was a Canadian television program which aired on CBC Television from 1982 to 1986; the Disney Channel also picked up the rights in the mid-1980s; 6 seasons were produced by Nelvana.
It starred Andrew Sabiston and Marnie McPhail as Tom and Annie Edison, Sunny Besen Thrasher as their mischievous little brother Paul, and Milan Cheylov as their bumbling friend Lance Howard. The show focused on the adventures of the main cast as they stumbled onto one problem after another, using the science wits of fraternal twins Tom and Annie to solve the situation.
The last name of 'Edison' is an obvious homage to Thomas Edison, the great American inventor.

The images are shocking. Armoured tanks plow into crowds of people, flames from burning buses light up the night sky, and bleeding bodies are rushed to hospital. For weeks student protesters in Beijing's Tiananmen Square have been demonstrating for political reform of China's communist government. A declaration of martial law has failed to quell the protests, and now the government has called in the military. Death is all around as the CBC's Tom Kennedy reports.
The massacre begins shortly after midnight as tanks and armoured personnel carriers roll through the streets, crushing hastily erected barricades and into Tiananmen Square. After launching tear gas and using loudspeakers to order people to leave, the army starts shooting. But the protesters fight back, beating army officers or simply standing their ground. They form human walls around foreign press to make sure the story gets out to the world.

MK-ULTRA In Canada - The Sleep Room (From The Fifth Estate)
"When Canadians first learned that CIA brainwashing experiments had been carried out on Canadians... in Canada... with the knowledge of our government, it was tremendous shock. As the fifth estate was first to report in 1980, the work that Dr. Ewan Cameron oversaw at the Allan Memorial Institute in Montreal was shocking. Now, the story of Cameron's experiments and the victims' struggle for justice have been made into a riveting movie, to be broadcast on CBC Television this Sunday and Monday nights. For the victims of The Sleep Room, the horror has never really ended.

[January 6, 1998]
A short CBC news segment from "The Fifth Estate", referencing the miniseries "The Sleep Room", as well as the original broadcast of The Fifth Estate which first reported the CIA connection to Dr. Ewen Cameron's work at McGill University. This is a well put together news piece which covers all the bases with archive footage, reenactments and witness testimony.

This week, we take a look at the political event on the U.S. presidential race
calendar - next week's Super Tuesday primary sweepstakes.
We begin with the CBC's Joe Schlesinger looking at the TIDES OF CHANGE IN
AMERICA. Joe looks back in history for insight as to whether Americans really
are ready to embrace that slogan of change everyone's chanting.
Super Tuesday is just days away, on February 5th, and even by the often wild
standards of U.S. primaries, this is shaping up to be a dramatic and exciting
event. It's when 22 U.S. states make their choice for a Presidential candidate.
The race for the Democratic Party is now down to Barack Obama and Hillary
Clinton. Among Republicans it's between John McCain and Mitt Romney.
The CBC's veteran correspondent Joe Schlesinger has covered many Super Tuesdays
in his day when he was based in Washington from the Carter years through Ronald
Reagan's Presidency to the Presidency of George Bush senior.
Joe sees 2008 as something of a watershed year in U.S. politics and thinks that
insight can be gained by looking back at another tumultuous era in American
history for clues as to what may be taking shape.
In the second half of the show we look at the future of U.S. foreign policy
under a new president and explore the idea of whether the U.S. is a SHRINKING
SUPERPOWER.
Brian has an in-depth discussion with Parag Khanna. He is the author of a
controversial New York Times Magazine article, on the complex foreign policy
challenges the next President of the United States will inherit.
Khanna believes the global playing field has dramatically changed and that
America may not be able to exert the type of influence it did in the past -
despite the continuing importance of its economy and military power. His
thought-provoking essay is entitled: "Waving Goodbye to Hegemony."
