In September last year, I took part in a Charity walk for raising money for Killin Mountain Rescue, the Mountain Rescue Dog Association and most of the money went towards setting free girls in Nepal suffering from neglect bu giving them education and a home. I took part in one of the days of the three day walk as many of us had other commitments. Many RYLA people took part in the full 50 mile walk. It was harder than it looks in this film; sorry there isn't much footage as I didn't have the time while walking.

It's time again for the Edinburgh Cavalcade signaling the start of the Festival Fringe, a four week festival of performances of the arts. This year's parade was a washout but I decided to try my best to film the event so bare with the bad quality of footage. My camera packed in because of the wetness which is a shame but the shoot was quite bad anyway; there was someone blowing a whistle the whole time of the parade which ruined the sound in parts; I've tried to get ride of it where possible.

Well, it was only a question of time when I was going to do one of these videos after browsing around you tube and live video. I made this at the end of 2007 in Autumn and was about to make a whole series of blog videos but I stopped because I became too busy. I hope to continue making new blogs for 2008 and really get into it. I found this challenge really testing and it took me a few days to master which is a long time.

Leith's festival kicks off with a mini tattoo, now in it's 6th year in 2007. The tattoo bases it's self on the Edinburgh Tattoo and features a mix of marching and fire displays this year. It took place down by Leith's shore and continues to attract more spectators every year. This film was a challenge to edit but now I've finished it so can share it with the world.

In the last few months, I was asked to film a performance of Troup and the Kidd who regularly play at Whistle Binkies on the North Bridge in Edinburgh. I was asked by a friend to be the camera operator for the night. I'm glad that the footage was used as I made a mistake after missing the intro they made and I had filmed from when the music started. Thankfully, my friend edited the piece and a video came out of it to promote themselves. I didn't direct or produce the video, I only did the camera work which was basically a static shot of the singers. I'm not much of a fan of these lighting conditions or atmospheres so this was something a little different for me. The singer is Christopher and the guy playing the guitar is Adam Troup who has made some films himself which can be found by typing his name in you tube. Also See part 2 of the video.

I made this video from photos of my cat found in various photo albums. I am planning on making a documentary on Dusty as he is getting old and it would be nice to capture some memories of him. Here, you can see him get up to his usual habits and you get a taste of how different my family is with him around, enjoy.

After opening my account with live video, I began to view what other people were making for themselves. I had never been involved with any sort of web blog making until last year. It looked like fun so I decided to do my own blogs. These were produced in the later part of 2007 and I haven't picked up the pace of making them frequently which I hope to do in 2008 very soon.

I produced this video in April, 2006 to showcase Edinburgh's newly named 'Spring Festival' which has been struggling to keep going due to a lack of funding from the Edinburgh Council. The Spring Festival is a mix of acts from around the globe which provide a wide selection of music along with games and activites for young people.

This is another event type video which I made in August, 2005 prior to my first study year of video production. I went along to two mini tattoos, more... organised as part of the Edinburgh Tattoo to encourage the public who may not have got a ticket to come to the event. I was lucky enough to be present at both. I also attended the Festival Cavalcade and went on a tour bus which I may redo this year properly. The quality lacks again here and it was still quite a well before I made anything decent. Ten years ago, I went on a school trip to Vogrie country park, Midlothian which remains a special memory for me. At the time, several photos were taken from one of my parents' old cameras which am unsure of the model. I remember when three 'SMT' buses would take the three year groups here, p4 I believe at the time and would travel there by convoy. In late 2007, I decided to make some photo videos to archive memories I have myself along with my family.

In August 2007, I went around Edinburgh during the Festival Fringe with my Hi8 camera capturing the 2007 events. As I'm a student, I could not afford to go to events such as the international festival so produced my own program of events which were all free. The Fringe has started up another scheme called Free Festival which has a website displaying a list of shows which all cost nothing. On my festival trips, I went to the Royal Mile for watching street performers, attended the Fringe Sunday based in the meadows, the International Game Festival and watched a musical display in Edinburgh's Botanic Gardens.

For the past ten years, I have made several visits to Wilburn Farm, just outside the town of Hawick in the Scottish Borders. Here, I have grown up in the beauty of the countryside in addition to the rest of Scotland's magnificent scenery. I am possible going back again in 2008 after a year gap which has never happened before. I'd like to make another film there, something extra special with my new camera. While on holiday here, I made a friend with a dog called 'Ben'. We had many a memory running around the farm and jumping over rivers.

I made this blog video while noticing my cat performing strange actions such as drinking from the bathroom which he shouldn't as it is not good for him. Recently in 2008, he has been drinking water in a bowl from here and we don't know he doesn't drink the water from the kitchen tap; it's very strange. Hope you enjoy this video of my pet and I'm going to make a documentary on him soon too.

This is the first film which began my journey of video making at key events around Edinburgh and the Lothians which I'm continuing to do now and more... getting better.This is another old video from 2005, which various in quality; low, medium and high modes on my cybershot p73 which I used until December, 2006 before using my new Hi8 video cam. Again, it's a video for old times sake to keep. The video size is 144mb so should open after a few minutes.
